01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground Italian sausage until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
03 - Add mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
04 - Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian herbs, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
05 - Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
06 - Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Add Parmesan and arrange pepperoni slices if using.
07 - Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
08 - Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra herbs or red pepper flakes if desired.
