# What You'll Need:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
02 - 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
03 - 1/3 cup (35 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
04 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
05 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

06 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) Guinness stout, at room temperature
07 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) buttermilk, at room temperature
08 - 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
09 - 2 large eggs, at room temperature
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Optional Topping

11 - 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar, for dusting
12 - Whipped cream or chocolate ganache, for serving

# Directions:

01 - Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 5 minutes.
02 - Grease and line a 7-inch (18 cm) round cake pan that fits your air fryer basket.
03 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
04 - In another bowl, combine Guinness, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
05 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
06 - Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
07 - Place the pan into the preheated air fryer basket. Cook for 23–27 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
08 - Remove the cake from the air fryer and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, or top with whipped cream or chocolate ganache if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The air fryer creates an incredibly moist crumb while developing a gorgeous crackly top
  • Guinness adds subtle coffee-like depths without any overwhelming beer taste
  • Twenty-five minutes to the most decadent dessert youll make this month
02 -
  • Overmixing creates a tough cake, so stop as soon as the flour streaks disappear
  • Every air fryer runs differently, so start checking at 23 minutes
  • The cake continues cooking slightly after removal, so dont panic if it seems underdone at first
03 -
  • Place a square of foil under your pan if your air fryer has strong hot spots
  • Let the Guinness sit open for 5 minutes to lose some carbonation before mixing
